Milwaukee Renaissance Academy is proud to announce the location of its new home! We will be permanently located at 2212 North 12th Street. The building is the former North Central YMCA.

We will need to go through three renovations before the entire building can be used for academic purposes...and the first phase begins NOW!!!

Charter schools do NOT receive any funding for facility. We are very fortunate to have an angel investor who agreed to purchase the building on our behalf and then lease it back at a very reasonable rate...

There are a number of advantages to participating in the renaissance of Milwaukee Renaissance Academy’s Building! You will be adding to a long legacy of a historical building as a community resource. The building was formerly the North Side YMCA and it holds many significant memories for the Milwaukee community. For example, on the MRA Board, one member learned to swim and another met his wife here!

Furthermore, Milwaukee Renaissance Academy’s site is in the middle of major development. It is just blocks away from central downtown and is garnering the attention of major housing and business developers. Some of the venues coming soon to this area are Terry Porter’s Sport Complex, the Josey Heights Homes, and many other exciting Bronzeville business ventures.

There are a number of different ways to be involved in our capital campaign, each offering a different set of benefits.

Below is a list of all of the areas in the building that need renovation. If you have a special interest in providing support to a certain area of the building, the following opportunities exist for naming rights.

Any donor that gives 100,000 or more will be eligible for a Founding Flag. Founding Flags will bear the name of the giver and their commitment to education. It will be displayed prominently outside of the building and maintained for at least 10 years! That amounts to a $10, 000 investment/year – a great deal! These flags provide the giver with a name visibility to all who drive by our building.

Our first major contributors will be recognized as a founding contributor on all outgoing marketing materials including our letterhead, newsletters, event announcements, and annual report. Major contributors will also be recognized within a display case in the building.
