•  Ten MRA students visit the Waukesha to meet Leon Bates, world renowned pianist in a private concert

Prospectus Accepted! May 16th 2006

The UWM-Milwaukee Office of Charter Schools has moved the MRA prospectus forward.

Our next step will be to submit our full application on August 31, 2006! 

MRA is granted $250,000 from the Walton Family Foundation! May 31st 2006

MRA will recieve the Walton Family Foundation Pre and Post Authorization Grant.  The total amount of this grant is

$250,000.  After an extensive application and interview process, the Walton Family Foundation found

that Milwaukee Renaissance Academy's school design will meet the growing need in Milwaukee for excellence in education.

Prospectus Submission. April 28th 2006

MRA submitted their Prospectus to the UWM-Milwaukee Office of Charter Schools.

Youth Focus Group. April 13th 2006

Milwaukee youth gave their opinions on the overall school design.

Parent Focus Group. March 2006

Milwaukee parents shared their concerns for their students and gave useful suggestions on

how to increase effective parent involvement at Milwaukee Renaissance Academy.

Milwaukee Renaissance Academy Charter Application is Approved!

On September 26th, 2006 the University of Wisconsin Charter School Office approved MRA's Application! 

We are currently working on our charter contract to submit to the University of Wisconsin Board of Regents and

plan to open in August of 2007!
